This short series of pictures was taken on Sunday 2nd June 1963.

Having previously formed an LRTL special an articulated car is seen from the Schwebebahn at Sonnborn. I remember that the railway line across the bridge was then being electrified and the new copper wire was gleaming in the sunshine.

Car 260 on line 6 runs parallel to the Schwebebahn; I think the location is in Barmen.

At the same location we see a normal service train on the Schwebebahn. Our special on the line had been formed of a blue-liveried articulated car, but I did not get a picture of it.

There are now a few views of and from the Schwebebahn where it runs over the street.

Very nice pictures. But the first picture is in Sonnborn near the ZOO station.

Oh Geoffrey,

first you treat us with Essen, and now my hometown Wuppertal! Thank you very much again. You seem to have made quite a nice excursion on June 2nd, 1963.

The first image at the Zoo Stadium seems to show an extra tram that they put there for you for pictures.
The second was taken at Alter Markt in Barmen with the construction work for the total conversion of the crossing there beginning.
I'm especially fond of the last two pictures with cars and peaople around.

If the extra Schwebebahn Car was blue, it was the first articulated Car No. 101, which was rebuilt from two cars of the 50s series.

With best regards

Bernhard
